The shelter in Spain that we support
Animals Help is a shelter in Northern Spain, they have been helping rescue dogs from Spain since 2015.
They find homes for the rescue dogs in their care in Spain, and with the help of rescue organisations, they also rehome their dogs to Germany, France and the UK.
Animals Help has been able to find homes for many Spanish rescue dogs over the years and is committed to continuing to help dogs in need whenever they can.
All rescue dogs are given worm and flea treatment when they first arrive.
After the dog has been at the shelter for three weeks they are taken to the vets to be spayed/castrated. During this visit, the vet will perform a health check on the dog.
All dogs are vaccinated annually.

How do they assess the dogs?
“Normally you have to give them some time so they can be themselves... sometimes with stress and fear we don’t know their real character. After a few days I begin to put them together with my dogs to evaluate them.
Now all the dogs in the shelter are very, very polite with people and dogs and very obedient.
Later when they have been there for a while I take my daughter to evaluate with children.”
